TRAINED IN CBT FOR MENOPAUSAL SYMPTOMS
I am a fully qualified and accredited psychotherapist working with clients for over 12 years primarily in the areas of depression, anxiety, stress and relationship issues. Although I work with many modes of therapy my experience in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy techniques has shown me the power that our thoughts can have over our emotional and physical wellbeing and CBT has been a favourite discipline of mine.
My training with the British Menopause Society has helped me combine my experience in CBT with helping women in coping with symptoms associated with the menopause.
The lack of specific, psychotherapeutic support in Ireland for women, in this arena brought about Menocare and our mission to facilitate women to help each other during this lifestage.
Debbie Farrell
Psychotherapist
I am a fully accredited Psychotherapist with 11 years experience in private practice. After working with women over the years dealing with the journey of menopause, the mental health issues that arise during this time leave woman feeling isolated, alone and overwhelmed.
Women seeking support experience anxiety, depression, low mood and suicidal ideation and often times there is a lack of emotional support. The group support set up by Menocare, brings woman together to share experiences, symptoms, fears and anxieties in a very supportive environment where woman feel heard and listened to. Many woman feel the group support helps them feel less isolated and alone with the difficult transition through menopause. There is a feeling of connection and togetherness. I use a combination of Psychotherapy, CBT and Mindfullness, connecting mind and body for a more balanced and supported transition.

Gabriela Bucur MIACP is a Multilingual qualified Psychotherapist, and an Accredited Member of Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MIACP). She is currently pursuing a four-year Clinical & Professional MA in Psychoanalysis at UCD School of Medicine.
Gabriela's background in mental health and healthcare enables her to offer women evidence-based strategies to handle common symptoms that may arise during the Menopause transition. Her aim is to make menopause more accessible to them, decrease the stigma around midlife mental health, and empower women to thrive, not just survive, during this pivotal time.
She is using a holistic approach guided by empathy and the recognition that Perimenopause and Menopause are not the end, but the beginning of a powerful new chapter. Gabriela sometimes applies Logotherapy and Psychoanalytic approaches to uncover the precise balance of meaning in women's lives during transition, which helps them comprehend the reasons for mental health as well. Her aim is to equip clients with the tools needed to thrive during middle age and beyond.
